In our previous article, we pointed at the knower of each and every experience, sensation, perception, thought, and whatever else remains to be known. We pointed out that we cannot distinguish between ourselves and the knower, and we can also not distinguish between ourselves and the element of knowing. It is simply not two.
Considering this, we may feel or think that only this 'knowing' element is true, real, valid, and this may bring us to the idea to renounce the world, to renounce experience. To some readers, this may sound somewhat absurd, sure, but it is common to hear about people that spend months or years in isolation, in caves or wherever, just meditating, or just being absorbed in deep meditation.
While there is absolutely nothing wrong with this approach, we want to consider another aspect of this.
Let's discuss.
The beauty of life
As we delve deeper and deeper into the nature of our own Being, we do not only realize that we are the 'space' in which all exists, but we realize that everything that exists, exists through us, or within us. Thus, nothing that exists is separate from us. It cannot be.In fact, whatever is known, or experienced, is nothing other than our Self. So, experience is an absolutely beautiful thing, it is the beauty of life. To experience ourSelf, intimately. To explore and discover ourSelf in endless different variations.
See, not only is the experience of life beautiful, but it gives us wisdom. We learn through experience, and through this learning process, we can help and support those around us too, just as we need support and guidance from time to time.
This 'learning' through experience is part of our spiritual evolution. When we say evolution, please note that we are not proposing that we need to evolve towards something, that we need to attain some goal in the future, no. What is meant with our evolution, is that our insight deepens, we start to perceive the world with more clarity.
No effort
Seeing the world with clarity means that we see and experience it for what it is. Clarity allows us to see the oneness of all things, the harmony of the Universe, as it already is. It allows us to experience without expectation, without discrimination, to have no aversion towards anything. It brings about effortlessness. This clarity means inner peace, fulfillment, and harmony with all things. Oneness with all things means no separation, and this is love.
We do not have to deny ourselves the experience of life, and experience is not meaningless. In fact, we can honor this life, this incarnation, by taking the approach of the middle way. Not attached to emptiness, not attached to form.
When we know who we are, we can peacefully participate in the Divine Play. We participate, or we observe, not forgetting who we are, and we embrace the endless oceans of experience.
