There is a town called Dharamsala, located in the Northern province of Himachal Pradesh, India. This is the author's favorite location, for many reasons. One of them being that the Tibetan Children's Village is located there.
The author made trips to Dharamsala, some years ago, and the feeling of the place never left the author's heart.
For many years after visiting, the longing to return was very strong. The author kept thinking of himself, of Dharamsala, and the distance in-between. With time, this changed.

Oh, Dharamsala!
Oh, Dharamsala, where do I begin? The thought of You makes my heart sing!
Enthroned in the Himalayan foothills,
Your beauty is unmatched
With elegance, You wear Your rocky crown,
tips decorated with icy jewels.
Oh, Dharamsala, I adore You!
In Your big, beautiful, green-brown eyes,
With elegance, You wear Your rocky crown,
tips decorated with icy jewels.
Oh, Dharamsala, I adore You!
In Your big, beautiful, green-brown eyes,
I found love
Your cool breath brings the prayer flags to life,
Your sweet scent fills Shiva's shrines
Wrapped into Your heart,
You protect the palace of Chenrezig.
Oh, Dharamsala, You are so kind!
In Your narrow alleys and busy streets,
Your cool breath brings the prayer flags to life,
Your sweet scent fills Shiva's shrines
Wrapped into Your heart,
You protect the palace of Chenrezig.
Oh, Dharamsala, You are so kind!
In Your narrow alleys and busy streets,
I lose myself.
In Your Sacred Silence,
I find my Self.
Over the years I have missed You so much,
My heart kept beating Your name.
But now it is clear,
I live within You and You live within Me
We are not two.
