This is the 6th and final article in our series of articles. The purpose of this series of articles is to explore different paths or practices, as aids to becoming aware of our True Nature.
As the title of these articles indicates, this is a pathless path, because we are not going from one point to another. We are not attaining some goal or something new. Our True Nature is Here and Now, we simply need to acknowledge our Self.
So, besides the four 'common' paths we explored, there are more paths or practices.
There is, for example, the practice of mantra repetition. This can also be accompanied by prayer beads or a mala. The author has written an article about using prayer beads. There is Hatha Yoga, which is a system of physical postures. There is Pranayama Yoga, which is a practice of controlling the breath. There is also Nada Yoga which is meditation with sound, or 'union through sound'. And, of course, there are many more.
Satsanga is very important, meaning to be in the company of 'spiritual seekers' or people with spiritual wisdom and insight. Throughout all of these paths and practices, having a Guru or teacher is extremely helpful.
We do not have to become anything different from what we are at this very present moment. We are, in fact, always, Peace and Happiness. We can never not be our True Nature. So, there is no becoming.
Of course, this does not sound true or convincing when we are identifying as a person, as a body, as a suffering, isolated entity. The aim of these practices or paths is to remove the ignorance, which makes us believe that we are this 'separate self'.
Knowing our Self is not just another psychological game, or clinging to another belief or concept. When we see the world from the perspective of true Peace and Happiness, we see that this is the way that it has always been, we were simply not aware of it.
Ending the series on this note, the author would like to invite the readers to share their thoughts and experience. What is considered helpful on our path? What is considered not helpful?
We come from different backgrounds, religions, philosophies, but we are all looking for the same thing; Lasting Peace and Happiness.
Yes, we have different names for this, such as God, Self, Atman, Soul, True Nature, Liberation, Nirvana, but in the end, it is about lasting peace and happiness. Fulfillment. None of us can deny the yearning for lasting fulfillment, peace, and happiness.
Please, share any thoughts or feelings in the comment section. And, a very big THANK YOU to the reader whose comment started this series of articles - it was great fun and a great pleasure!

Becoming, not becoming
Taking the series of articles into consideration, it is worth noting that we are not required to become anything. We do not have to become a Yogi, dress differently, get a new name, religion, etc. These practices discussed can be incorporated into our daily lives. We do not have to become anything different from what we are at this very present moment. We are, in fact, always, Peace and Happiness. We can never not be our True Nature. So, there is no becoming.

Peace and Happiness
The author acknowledges that these articles were simply touching on these paths and practices. If there is any interest in a specific path or practice, the author is happy to elaborate more on his experience with each path. Additionally, the author can suggest actual teachers of these paths, which the author has found very helpful.Ending the series on this note, the author would like to invite the readers to share their thoughts and experience. Unlike a path that leads somewhere, the path to our Self is a pathless path |
